Dosbarth Chirk - Nursery/Reception

Croeso i Dosbarth Chirksmiley

I hope you have all had a relaxing and enjoyable Summer break.

I am really excited to get this year started with the children, getting to know them and having lots of fun learning.

Classroom Organisation

This year Chirk class will be sharing our areas with Harlech class.  Both classes are Nursery and Reception.

Alongside me (Mrs H Roberts), the children in Chirk class will also be taught by Miss Prince on a Friday morning and will be supported by Mrs I Roberts and Mrs M Johnson throughout the week.

The children may also do certain activities with members of staff from Harlech class, such as PE.  The teacher in Harlech class will be Miss S Trueman who is supported by Mrs S Hopley-Vernon, Miss R Prince and Mrs S Anderson.

Topics

Our topic this half term will be MARVELLOUS ME and the children will be looking at:-  themselves, growing up, change & family and adventures.  We do like to follow the children's interests so the topic may change and evolve throughout this half term.

Classroom Routines

  • In the first half term Reception children will focus on letters and sounds, recognising letters and sounds and reading simple words and captions.  We will be sending more information out about this during the first couple of weeks back at school.
  • Reading books - All Nursery and Reception children will bring home books from the Library to share with you. (We will move the children onto reading books when we feel they are ready).
  • PE - Morning Nursery will have PE on Monday, Afternoon Nursery will have PE on Wednesday, and Reception will have PE on Thursday morning.

Please make sure that your child has the correct kit in school at all times and that it has their name on everything including the bag and pumps.

  • Snack money - £1.50 per week to be sent in a named envelope please as it can get quite tricky remembering who has brought what in when it is all loose.
